We had dinner at Rose Tavern our second night in Canandaigua, and we loved the food so much we actually went back for lunch the very next day. Whether you’re staying in a standard room or upgrading to a suite, one of the highlights of the accommodations at The Lake House on Canandaigua is the private outdoor space in every room. First-room rooms open out onto large, covered patios, and upper-level rooms have expansive covered terrace space. The property is stunning and the staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was spectacular- the best steak we’ve ever had was at the Rose Tavern. Even on a rainy day, there was a ton of games to play in the library bar and enjoy a delicious cocktail.

The Library Bar is the perfect cozy place to both start and end your day at The Lake House on Canandaigua. There’s nothing quite like having a gourmet breakfast served in a comfy hotel bed. Although we didn’t make it to the restaurant to enjoy breakfast, we did enjoy breakfast from Rose Tavern in our room. The lunch offerings at Rose Tavern are (of course) a little more casual than the dinner menu, however no less flavorful. They are also focused on sustainability, and work closely with local growers to source the best ingredients for their menu that celebrate the Finger Lakes.
